Hello Folks!

Welcome to my dividend income update for March.

Each month I post dividends received to keep track of earned passive income. Opening a new position or adding to an existing position on a regular basis causes increases in income on a monthly or quarterly basis.

Wells Fargo & Co (WFC) - $7.50
Johnson & Johnson (JNJ) - $7.50

Loyal3 Purchases - 3/16 and 3/22

I've finally made a few purchases on Loyal3 !! Money for investment has been tough to come by. Earlier this year, I opened positions in Boeing (BA) and Kroger (KR).

3/16:
Alphabet Inc. (GOOGL) - 0.2000 shares @$750 ($150). Yield = 0.0%
Facebook Inc. (FB) - 0.4507 shares @$110.93 ($50). Yield = 0.0%
Nike Inc (NKE) - 0.8138 shares @$61.44 ($50). Yield = 1.04%
Starbucks Corp (SBUX) - 0.8406 shares @$59.48 ($50). Yield = 1.34%

$300 of new capital invested and adding $1.19 to my annual dividend income.

I've opened new positions in Alphabet and Facebook, both high growth stocks, neither of them have distributions. This would be my conscious decision to include growth stocks in the mix, alongside dividend paying stocks.

3/22:
Target Corp. (TGT) - 1.2192 shares @$82.02 ($100). Yield = 2.73%
PepsiCo Inc. (PEP) - 0.9938 shares @$100.62 ($100). Yield = 2.79%
Alphabet Inc. (GOOGL) - 0.0656 shares @$761.85 ($50). Yield = 0.0%
Facebook Inc. (FB) - 0.4456 shares @$112.22 ($50). Yield = 0.0%

$300 of new capital invested and adding $5.52 to my annual dividend income.

These purchases increase my total annual projected dividends to $1,022.60

Recent Buy - KR

The wait had been long!! I've always wanted to own a piece of this well run company. Finally, on 3rd March, the stock was down 8.1% and I swooped in to open a new position.

The company beat by $0.03, missed on revenue and the same-store sales growth guidance for FY2016 indicated a deceleration as compared to previous year's pace. I had missed out on previous occasions, not this time!! This is a well-run company and has potential to grow for multiple years.

I purchased 35 shares of The Kroger Co (KR: NYSE) on 3/03/16 for $37.408 per share. This is a new position in my Roth IRA.

I buy 40-50% of my grocery from Kroger. Love the deli, veggies and fruits, dairy, meat/fish and ice-creams. The 'Simple Truth' organic brand is pulling in a lot of revenue for KR. Now the next time I enter Kroger to shop, I've made a mental note to remind myself that I own a small fraction of this company as well.

The dividend yield is small but the payout ratio < 20%. This indicates that the company has tremendous potential to grow the dividend. I'm betting that Kroger's share price would grow at a greater clip as compared to other dividend plays.

Dividend Yield = 1.12%
Annual Payout = $0.42
Payout Ratio = 18.8%
Dividend Growth = 7 years
52 Week High = 12/30/2015| 42.75
% Off 52 Week High = -12.5%
Beta (5 Yr) = 0.8
Payable = $0.105- QRTR
Transaction fees = $7

This purchase adds $14.70 to my annual dividend income, based on the current $0.105 quarterly dividend.

My dividend stock portfolio will pay $1015.89 in dividends over the next 12 months.

The other stocks I own in my Roth are AT&T (T: NYSE) and W.P.Carey Inc. (WPC: NYSE)

Dividend Yield = 3.71%
Annual Payout = $4.36
Payout Ratio = 51.7%
Dividend Growth = 4 years
52 Week High = 03/18/2015| 155.99
% Off 52 Week High = -24.8%
Beta (5 Yr) = 1.1

Dividend Income Update - February 2016

Hello Folks!

Welcome to my dividend income update for February.
This year so far, I haven't been able to invest as the 2nd half of last year. I've been building my emergency funds so that we have the money available to relocate due to a change in job. I miss the weekly buying via Loyal3.

I have however opened a couple of new positions and will detail about the same in subsequent postings!

Each month I post dividends received to keep track of earned passive income. Opening a new position or adding to an existing position on a regular basis causes increases in income on a monthly or quarterly basis.

February 2016 Dividends -

Apple Inc (AAPL) - $15.60
AT&T Inc (T) - $24.00
Kinder Morgan Inc (KMI) - $8.75
Proctor & Gamble Co. (PG) - $13.26
Energy Transfer Partners LP (ETP) - $26.38
AbbVie  Inc (Abbv) - $10.26
HCP Inc (HCP) - $17.25
Starbucks Corp (SBUX) - $1.70

Total dividends received during the month of February 2016 = $117.20

This has been an approximate 400% increase as compared to dividend earnings of $23.50 in February 2015

As compared to November 2015, dividend income decreased due to dividend cuts from KMI. Quarterly dividends from KMI decreased from $35.70 to $8.75.
Overall a 17.23% decrease as compared to November 2015.
